“You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never let the fruits be your motive, nor cling to inaction.”
— Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 47
A cadet's work—drills, studies, the slow accumulation of discipline—rarely shows immediate reward, and chasing rank or praise can corrode the very diligence that earns them. Krishna's counsel to Arjuna on the battlefield is not passivity but the opposite: act fully, with skill and courage, precisely because you've released the anxious grip on outcomes. Today, do the hard, unglamorous task in front of you—not for the commendation it might bring, but because it is yours to do well. Let excellence be its own justification.
