Morning Philosophy

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

— Will Durant, paraphrasing Aristotle

Character is not decided in dramatic moments but accumulated in unremarkable ones. The small, unglamorous rep you don't feel like doing is the one that compounds. Discipline is a series of tiny votes for who you are becoming.

Question for the DayWhat small habit, done today, would my future self thank me for?

Daily Leadership Lesson

A leader who corrects people in public but praises them only in private teaches the team to fear exposure more than to seek excellence.

Deliver criticism one-on-one and save your public moments for recognizing specific good work.

Journal Memory

This entry is a heartfelt reflection on your close friends, expressing gratitude and appreciation for how each of them—flaws and all—helped shape who you are becoming.

“I really do find and respect my friends. I love every last one of them. Though they can get on my nerves and do some stupid shit sometimes they all have contribued in some way into making me into the man I am today for better or for worse. I know that without some of their criticisms, love, and competition I likely wouldn’t be writing this right now speaking about how much I really do love them. Daniel if you read this I hope you know I really do love you and appreciate the things you can do for me even though we disagree and fight sometimes I love and find comfort knowing that we can resolve things and you continue to push me to better myself through strong competition and encouragement.”
