Morning Philosophy

“No man is free who is not master of himself.”

— Epictetus

Discipline is not restriction; it is the precondition of everything you actually want. The person who cannot govern himself will always be governed by his impulses, or by someone else.

Question for the DayIn what area do I still need to become the master rather than the mastered?

Daily Leadership Lesson

Rotating who gets the hard assignments builds bench strength; always tapping your best person creates a single point of failure.

This week, hand a challenging task to your second-best performer with real support, not your default go-to.

Journal Memory

You reflected on lessons learned during the day, including finally understanding why your relationship with Marissa had failed and what you wanted to do differently going forward.

“I think that I learned some lessons today, don’t buy books from Books-a-miilion, paid $20, breathe like a king, disregard what people think of it and that will show more supreme confidence, and I better understand why I had a failed relationship with Marissa. I am over Marissa however I understand why it failed now. I didn’t like being physical, was extremely timid, was not mysterious in anyway, and we agreed on everything nearly. So through that experience I’m better understanding the ways to improve myself and when I do have another relationship to be a better man that way and to hopefully attract better women.”
